Noise source of Roots vacuum pump

The noise source of Roots vacuum pump is nothing more than motor and pump head. To find out where the specific problems are, please refer to the following analysis given by the technicians of vacuum pump factory:

1. Motor noise

At present, the noise of different motors with good motor quality often covers the noise of Roots vacuum pump. First, the fan noise is generally large, which should be caused by plastic fan deformation according to analysis; second, the bearing noise caused by the use of poor quality bearings.

2. Roots vacuum pump noise

1) Rotor collision noise

It includes the collision noise between the rotor and the rotor, between the rotor and the pump body, and between the rotor and the side cover. The main reasons are: insufficient stiffness of shaft, radial displacement of rotor and gear positioning on shaft, too large or too small gear clearance, too large axial clearance of bearing, etc.

2) Gear noise

Besides the machining accuracy of the gear itself, there are also the parallelism and center distance of the two rotor shafts where the gear is installed.

3) Bearing noise

In addition to the accuracy of the bearing itself, insufficient design may also cause the increase of bearing noise, such as excessive interference in the inner and outer rings of the bearing, insufficient shaft stiffness, insufficient supply of lubricating oil, and pollution by dust, water, corrosive gas and liquid, etc.
