What are the classifications of mechanical vacuum pumps
Vacuum pump is a
device which can produce, improve and maintain vacuum in a closed space by
various methods. Vacuum pump can be defined as a device or equipment that uses
mechanical, physical, chemical or physical chemical methods to extract air from
the container to obtain vacuum. With the development of vacuum application,
there are many kinds of vacuum pumps, whose pumping speed is from 0.5 liter per
second to hundreds of thousands and millions of liters per second. Limit
pressure (limit vacuum) ranges from coarse vacuum to ultra-high vacuum above
10-12pa.
Due to the wide range of working pressure involved in the
vacuum application department, it is impossible for any type of vacuum pump to
be fully applicable to all working pressure ranges. Different types of vacuum
pumps can only be used according to different working pressure ranges and
different working requirements.
In order to use conveniently and meet
the needs of various vacuum processes, various vacuum pumps are sometimes
combined according to their performance requirements and applied in the form of
units. A pump that uses mechanical movement (rotation or sliding) to obtain
vacuum is called a mechanical vacuum pump. According to its working principle
and structural characteristics, mechanical vacuum pump is described as follows:
Variable volume vacuum pump is a vacuum pump which uses the periodic
change of the volume of the pump cavity to complete suction and exhaust to
achieve the purpose of suction. The gas is compressed before being discharged
from the pump chamber. This kind of pump is divided into reciprocating type and
rotary type.
