How to prevent the overload of Roots vacuum pump
The power required by
roots vacuum pump to compress gas is directly proportional to the pressure
difference. Once the air pressure difference is too high, the roots pump may be
overloaded, which will cause the motor winding to burn down. How to prevent
overload of Roots vacuum pump is as follows:
(1) use mechanical
automatic pressure regulating bypass valve
The bypass valve is installed
on the through pipe side between the outlet and inlet of Roots vacuum pump. The
valve controls the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the pump
not to exceed the rated value. When the pressure difference reaches the rated
value, the valve will automatically open through the pressure difference, so
that the outlet and inlet of Roots vacuum pump are connected, and the pressure
difference between the inlet and outlet is rapidly reduced. At this time, the
roots vacuum pump almost no pressure difference. When the pressure difference is
lower than the rated value, the valve will close automatically and the gas will
be pumped out from the front stage pump to roots vacuum pump. Roots vacuum pump
with bypass overflow valve can be started at the same time with the previous
pump, so that the equipment is easy to operate.
(2) use hydraulic
coupling
The use of hydraulic coupling can also prevent overload of
Roots vacuum pump, thus allowing roots vacuum pump to operate under high
pressure difference. The hydraulic coupling is installed between the pump and
the motor. Under normal operating conditions, the hydraulic coupling transmits
the rated torque from the motor end to the pump. The maximum pressure difference
of Roots vacuum pump is determined by the maximum torque transmitted by the
hydraulic coupling, and the maximum torque transmitted by the hydraulic coupling
is regulated by the amount of liquid in it. When roots vacuum pump works under
high pressure difference or starts at the same time with the front pump, the
speed difference will slip inside the hydraulic coupling, and only transfer a
certain torque to slow down the pump. With the pumping process, the gas load is
reduced, and the roots vacuum pump is gradually accelerated to the rated speed.
(3) use vacuum electronic components to control the inlet pressure of
Roots vacuum pump
Pressure sensitive components (such as vacuum bellows
relay or electric contact vacuum gauge) are placed on the inlet pipeline of
Roots vacuum pump. After starting the vacuum system, when the pressure at the
inlet of the roots vacuum pump is lower than the given value (allowable starting
pressure of the pump), the pressure-sensitive component will send a signal and
the electric control system 020 - will open the 0 (if the vacuum system is
equipped with roots vacuum pump) through line, and then close the side through
line valve. If the pump inlet pressure is higher than the specified value, the
roots vacuum pump will automatically close (or simultaneously open the line
valve beside the pump), so as to ensure the reliable operation of Roots vacuum
pump.
