Methods to reduce cavitation rate of Roots vacuum unit

If roots vacuum unit works for a long time under cavitation condition, it will cause bad conditions such as noise and vibration. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid working under cavitation condition as far as possible 

1. Reduce the temperature of the working fluid

On the premise that the operating point of Roots vacuum unit is fixed, the effect of cavitation can be prevented by reducing the temperature of working fluid. Liquid with lower saturated vapor pressure is used as working fluid.

2. Operate in the safe area to improve the accuracy of type selection

This requires that in the selection stage, when selecting the suction pressure and working fluid temperature, the pressure range prone to cavitation should be avoided as far as possible.

3. Install cavitation protection line or check valve

When the bubble generated in the cavitation process ruptures in the compression process, the introduction of high pressure non condensable gas from the outside can timely supplement the space caused by bubble rupture, which can greatly reduce the damage of cavitation to the pump and reduce the noise and vibration caused by cavitation. The impeller and disc of the pump are made of materials with strong anti cavitation ability.
