Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump Operating Points

When the liquid ring vacuum pump is running, it is necessary to continuously fill water to maintain the liquid seal in the pump and also to play a cooling role. However, the vacuum caused by the pump is limited by the temperature of the water in the pump body.

The liquid ring vacuum pump can make the extracted gas not contact with the pump shell directly, so only the impeller is made of corrosion-resistant material when the corrosive gas is sucked. The liquid injected into the pump must not react with gas. For example, water can be used to suck air and concentrated sulfuric acid can be used to suck nitrogen. It should also be noted that the liquid used should not contain solid particles. Otherwise, the impeller and shell will be often worn and the suction capacity will be reduced.

Single-stage steam jet pump can only get 90% of the vacuum. If more than 95% of the vacuum is to be obtained, several steam jet pumps can be used in series to obtain greater vacuum.
