If the position of the filling port is in low-pressure area, the external fluid supply can be realized by self-priming of the pump itself, which requires less filling pressure. If the high-pressure cavity is filled with fluid, then the pressure of the cavity must be greater than the pressure of the pump cavity in order to carry out the fluid replenishment. Otherwise, the working fluid can not be replenished in time, which will cause gas to flow back from the compression chamber to the suction chamber, affecting the performance of the stainless steel vacuum pump.
After many tests, it is found that the performance of stainless steel vacuum pump can be reduced by using the self-priming method of the pump, because the pump can supply liquid at the suction chamber or at the end of the impeller, and the working fluid has been working for a period of time (starting from the completion of the compressed gas in the working fluid), that is, the energy is available. A certain loss, coupled with the impact loss of the liquid ring caused by fluid replenishment at this time, also reduces the effective work of the working fluid on the gas, consuming a part of the energy. If the replenishment fluid is placed in the air chamber position, the replenishment fluid can obtain sufficient energy and participate in the next round of suction and exhaust process with little energy loss. Therefore, it is beneficial to improve the performance of stainless steel vacuum pump by replenishing fluid in the high-pressure chamber position.
