When the metamorphic components and impurities reach a certain degree, the color of the oil changes, the viscosity and acid value increase, and insoluble resin like substances are precipitated, which results in the increase of vapor pressure and deterioration of performance of vacuum pump oil. At this time, the pump oil can no longer be used, and a new pump oil must be replaced.

In order to prevent the dust and particulate matter in vacuum pump oil from entering the pump cavity along with the pump oil, continuous filtering device should be set up during the operation of the pump for some technological processes.
