Operation of wet roots vacuum unit
The wet roots pump does not need the front stage pump to form a vacuum unit, and because roots pump is a constant volume type, with a large speed range, it is easy to operate, requires small power, high volumetric efficiency, and significant mechanical efficiency (no contact between parts), and can be combined with single-stage, double-stage and three-stage. This makes the wet roots pump an ideal and economical vacuum pump in the paper industry. Its operation can be divided into two situations: ① operation with water injection; ② operation with water injection first.
1. Operation with water injection: the air inhaled by the single-stage and double-stage pump is compressed and transmitted through the combined absorption and phase difference separator. A small amount of injected water flows back to the water tank installed under the muffler of the separator. The water can also be injected into the pump for use, and the heat generated by compressed air can be eliminated with only a small amount of make-up water. Some roots pumps directly suck in the water mixture, or no additional cooling water can be injected.
The vacuum pump does not absorb water when it stops working. When it is started again, it should be prevented not to start when it is full of water, otherwise accidents may occur. The injected water can be treated with polyphosphate to prevent water from depositing in the machine and causing the machine to rust.
2. Operation of water free injection: Although there is no water injection, a combined separation muffler with absorption and phase difference or standard muffler can be installed. It can be assumed that 90% of the total noise energy in this device is changed into heat and disappeared.
