Overview of screw vacuum pump

Screw vacuum pump is a series of dry pump products. According to the different screw profile, it can be divided into two types: medium rod type and screw type. The main characteristics of screw vacuum pump are: reliable operation, long service life; good power balance, strong adaptability, can pump out a variety of gases containing dust and condensable steam; convenient operation and maintenance. The pump is widely used in electronic, nuclear, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industrial fields.

The screw vacuum pump belongs to the type of positive displacement pump. Its working cycle can be divided into three processes: suction, compression and exhaust. With the rotor rotating, each pair of meshing teeth successively complete the same working cycle, which is illustrated by one pair of teeth.

The most important part of screw vacuum pump is the rotor with Yin and Yang poles. The cross-section line between the tooth surface of the rotor and the vertical surface of the rotor axis is called the rotor profile line, as shown in the figure. The tooth surface of the rotor is formed by the helical motion of the rotor profile. The internal and external rotors of screw can be regarded as a pair of meshing helical gears. The profile line must meet the meshing law, that is, the common normal passing through the contact point of indium wire at any position must pass through the node. The task of ordinary helical gears is to transfer the rotating speed, torque and power between two parallel shafts. In the dry screw pump, the internal and external rotors are not in contact, and the power transmission between them is completed by gears.
