The oil-free reciprocating vacuum pump uses the piston ring and sealing ring of self-lubricating material, so there is no need to add oil for lubrication in the cylinder; an oil separation chamber is added between the cylinder and the engine body (its length is greater than one stroke length) to prevent the lubricating oil in the engine body from leaking into the cylinder along the piston rod, so the pump pairs the pumping system. Oil free reciprocating vacuum pump has vertical and horizontal structures.

The working principle of reciprocating vacuum pump is mainly composed of cylinder and piston which do reciprocating linear motion. The driving of the piston is done by the crank connecting rod. In addition to the above main components, when the exhaust valve and the suction valve are in operation, the piston in the cylinder will do reciprocating motion under the drive of the motor through the function of the crank connecting rod mechanism. When the piston moves from the left end to the right end in the cylinder, as the volume of the left cavity of the cylinder increases continuously, the density of the gas in the cylinder decreases, and the process of air extraction is formed. At this time, the gas in the container enters the left cavity of the pump body through the suction valve. When the piston reaches the right position, the cylinder is completely filled with gas. Then the piston moves from the right end to the left end, and the suction valve is closed. The gas in the cylinder is gradually compressed as the piston moves from right to left. When the pressure of the gas in the cylinder reaches or slightly exceeds the atmospheric pressure, the exhaust valve 4 is opened to exhaust the gas to the atmosphere and complete a working cycle. When the piston moves from left to right again, it sucks in a part of gas, and repeats the previous cycle, and so on, until a stable equilibrium pressure is reached in the pumped container.
