Horizontal layout of Roots vacuum pump


Roots vacuum pump group 8 has become a horizontal layout. The air inlet of the pump is on, and the exhaust port is high. This horizontal layout has a low center of gravity and stability at high speed. The two rotors of roots pump are changed synchronously by a high precision gear.

Roots vacuum pump group is a single rotor positive displacement vacuum pump. There are two kinds of rotors in the pump cavity. The rotor has two leaves and three leaves to four leaves. The two rotors tend to change opposite to each other in the morning, and are driven by the shaft end gear to move synchronously. There is no combat between the rotors, and there is no combat between the rotor and the pump cavity wall. There is usually a gap of 0.15 ~ 1.0mm between them, and the pump cavity is sealed by the gap.

As there is no friction in the cavity of roots pump and the rotor is not running at high speed, it is usually 1500-3000r / min. besides, it is unnecessary to use lubricating oil to complete the oil-free and clean pumping process. The lubrication part of the pump is limited to the bearing and gear, and the dynamic seal. Pump does not reciprocate moving parts, so whether to complete good dynamic balance. Therefore, the roots pump runs stably, with high speed and small scale.

The transmission of the pump is mostly direct connection type, and the large pump is belt driven. The driving gear of the motor is mostly arranged on one side of the rotor shaft, which is inconvenient to be installed and disassembled. The torque reported by the driving shaft is large, the shaft shall have sufficient strength and rigidity, and the rotor taken from the shaft shall be compact and reliable. The sealing of roots pump is very difficult. There is a dynamic seal between the extended part of the driving shaft and the bearing cavities of the two rotors. Each end cover of the pump cavity is provided with a static seal.

In order to prevent the wrong operation of roots pump, bypass overflow valve is usually set. According to the special requirements of roots pump, the oil gearbox, bearing and other components are taken from the pump cavity to make a separate layout.

The heat generated during the tightening process of roots pump is transmitted to the rotor and pump body. It is very difficult for the rotor to transmit heat to the outside of the pump, and the heat of the pump body is simply lost to the outside of the air at the fourth anniversary. Therefore, there is a temperature gap between the rotor and the pump body. The thermal shrinkage of the rotor is increased. When the pump load increases greatly, the rotor shortens and the gap disappears, and it gets stuck. Therefore, the air-cooled Roots pump appears, which uses the cooled gas or large gas to indirectly cool the hot rotor, thus reducing the temperature between the rotor and the pump shell, and improving the heat resistance of roots pump.
