Selection of pumps for vacuum system


Considering what kind of vacuum pump is used in a vacuum system, first of all, according to the requirements of the system, second, we should have a detailed understanding of the performance characteristics of the pump, after comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various pumps, we can decide on it, so that we can choose the appropriate one.

1、 Oil seal mechanical pump

There are two-stage 2x Hokkaido rotary vane pump with a pumping speed of 0.5-150 L / s and a full range of products.

These pumps are used to obtain low vacuum, or as a high vacuum pump and pre pumping pump. With air ballast device, it can remove moist air. However, the limiting vacuum is one order of magnitude lower than that of dry air. The pumping speed of the pump refers to the pumping speed when the inlet pressure is 760 Torr. When the system pressure drops, the pumping speed also drops until it is close to the ultimate vacuum of the pump, and the pumping speed is also close to zero. The drawdown coefficient has certain regulations.


2、 Booster pump (roots pump)

The working pressure range is 10-5x10-4 Torr, the common range is 2-5x10-3 Torr, and the pumping speed range is 150-2000 L / s. there are a series of products in China. The maximum pumping speed of this kind of pump is between 2 ~ 10-2 Torr. It needs a front stage pump and can't exhaust directly to the atmosphere. The limiting vacuum varies with the preceding pump. Compared with the oil booster pump, it has a wider working pressure range, a higher maximum exhaust pressure (10-30 Torr for the mechanical booster pump, 1-2 Torr for the oil booster pump), and a small amount of reflux oil vapor, so it is more appropriate to use it to pump out condensable gases such as water vapor.
