new type of corrosion-resistant water ring vacuum pump

Water ring vacuum pump is a kind of warm vacuum pump, which is suitable for pumping gas containing liquid. When pumping corrosive or explosive gas, it is often the first choice for designers. However, the original water ring vacuum pump produced by cast iron or carbon steel is not corrosion-resistant and can not guarantee the vacuum degree of the equipment stably for a long time: the service life is short, the comprehensive operation cost borne by the user is high, and the continuous production is inconvenient due to the frequent maintenance and replacement of the vacuum pump.


In order to solve the problem of corrosion resistance of water ring vacuum pumps, stainless steel pumps, ceramic pumps and composite lining pumps have been developed successively. These pumps have some improvement in corrosion resistance compared with traditional vacuum pumps, but there are still various deficiencies. Stainless steel pump has small corrosion resistance range and high cost; ceramic pump has poor toughness, is easy to be damaged and difficult to be replaced; composite corrosion-resistant lining pump has different material expansion coefficient due to the composite structure of different materials, which is easy to cause lining cracks, bulges, falling off and other problems.

At present, the corrosion-resistant water ring vacuum pump made of phenolic glass fiber reinforced plastics (commonly known as FRP) by hot pressing can completely solve the above problems. Table 1 is the data table of the corrosion resistance of phenolic FRP, stainless steel and cast iron or carbon steel. It can be seen from the table that the corrosion resistance of phenolic FRP is much better than that of stainless steel, cast iron and carbon steel in several common acid substances which cause serious corrosion to the equipment. Therefore, the water ring vacuum pump made of phenolic glass fiber reinforced plastic has obvious advantages in pumping various corrosive gases.
