Vacuum System Classification

Vacuum pumps mostly consist of vacuum systems in application. However, according to different application characteristics, vacuum systems can be classified differently. What exactly is the partition of vacuum systems?

The vacuum system can be divided according to the working pressure and the cleanliness required by the system.

Vacuum system is classified according to working pressure, which is similar to vacuum classification and can be divided into five categories:

1. Coarse vacuum system, working pressure > 1330Pa;

2. Low vacuum system, working pressure 1330-0.13Pa;

3. High vacuum system with working pressure ranging from 0.13 to 1.3 x 10-6Pa;

4. Ultra-high vacuum system, working pressure 1.3*10-6-1.3*10-10 Pa;

5. Extremely high vacuum system, working pressure < 1.3 x 10-10Pa;

If the vacuum system is divided into two categories according to the cleanliness required, it is simpler: oil-free vacuum systems, such as dry vacuum pumps such as screw vacuum pumps, Roots vacuum pumps, cryogenic pumps, adsorption pumps and other vacuum systems, which do not cause oil vapor pollution in the vacuum chamber; oil-vacuum systems, such as oil seal machinery. Pump participation will lead to oil vapor pollution in the vacuum chamber of the vacuum system.
