Water Ring Vacuum Pumps Classification

Water ring vacuum pumps are classified according to suction and exhaust States

1) liquid ring pump. The inlet of the pump is in vacuum and the outlet is in atmospheric pressure. It is mainly used for vacuum water diversion (deacidification, degassing), vacuum moisture regain, etc. The limit vacuum of single stage pump is less than 50 hPa, and that of two stage pump is less than 39 hPa.

2) liquid ring compressor. The inlet of the pump is in the atmospheric pressure state, and the outlet is in the pressure state of the liquid ring pump. Mainly used in the chemical industry hydrogen, chlorine, vinyl chloride and other media pressure. The discharge pressure of single-stage pump can reach 0.3 MPa and that of two-stage pump can reach 0.6 MPa. Compressors with two or more stages are complex in structure, and the improvement of compression capacity is not proportional to the series number, so they are generally not used.

At present, the market also needs a kind of liquid ring pump between vacuum pump and compressor, that is, the inlet is in vacuum state, the outlet is in pressure state, and the working pressure is generally less than 500 hPa. We temporarily call it liquid ring vacuum-compression pump. It is often used for gas drainage in underground coal mine and reverse furnace gas.

1) Axial suction and exhaust gases enter and discharge impellers along the axis through the suction and exhaust windows on the side distribution plate.

The suction and exhaust windows are arranged on the distribution plate plane on the side of the impeller. The exhaust windows can be adjusted to minimize the over-compression in the low vacuum region and the under-compression in the high vacuum region. The power curve is non-overloaded and the high efficiency region is widened. In the trial production process, the window size and angle can be easily changed to achieve the best efficiency. In addition, the structure of this method is simple and easy to be made into two-stage pumps, but due to the limitation of window area, it is not suitable to be made into a double-acting type.

2) Radial suction and exhaust

Gas enters and discharges the impeller radially from the suction and exhaust windows on the surface of the distributor installed in the impeller wheel. This method can be used in both single and double-acting modes, especially in double-acting mode, because of the large window area, the efficiency is much higher than that of the axial mode. However, the structure of the pump is complex and difficult to manufacture. The size of the window can not be adjusted, and it is not easy to make a two-stage pump.
