Water Ring Vacuum Pump Construction and Application

Water ring vacuum pump is a common vacuum equipment, which consists of pump shell, impeller, intake and exhaust pipes and rotating shaft. The rotating shaft and impeller are eccentrically arranged in the pump shell, and the outer circle of the impeller is cut in one side and the inner wall of the shell. When the motor drives the impeller to rotate, the water is thrown onto the inner wall of the shell due to centrifugal force, forming a rotating water ring concentric with the inner wall of the shell. The water ring is not concentric with the impeller. The gap between the upper blade and the inner surface of the water ring of the impeller is smaller than that between the lower blade and the inner surface of the water ring of the impeller. In the first half of the rotation, the gap between the blades and the inner surface of the water ring gradually enlarges, and the gas is sucked into the shell through the intake pipe; in the second half of the impeller rotation, the gap between the blades and the inner surface of the water ring gradually narrows, and the inhaled gas is discharged through the exhaust pipe. The impeller rotates continuously, so as to inhale and exhaust gas continuously, so that the working vessel connected with the intake pipe side can achieve a certain degree of vacuum.

Water ring vacuum pump can also be used to pump liquid materials. It relies on the establishment of a certain degree of vacuum in the system, and under the action of pressure difference, it is a simple fluid conveying equipment for conveying liquid materials. It is especially suitable for jam, tomato sauce and other materials with granules. In the process of transportation, the material and liquid do not pass through the parts with complex structure and difficult to clean, thus avoiding the corrosion and cleaning problems caused by the material and liquid passing through the pump body. However, the conveying distance is short, the lifting height is limited and the efficiency is low.
