If the screw pump motor is too hot and overloaded, the cause of the pump motor scalding may be that the fluid viscosity is too high (that is, higher than the viscosity value set when selecting and designing the pump). Obviously, the higher the operating pressure, the greater the power required, because all rotary pumps produce the same flow rate per revolution of the shaft (i.e. at a given pump speed, the power consumption is directly related to the differential pressure). The mismatched fluid may cause rubber swelling, increase the interference fit between stator and rotor, and increase the torque and power consumption.

In the transmission process, when the transmission distance is very long and the pipeline friction loss is large, the screw pump must do extra work to overcome the high pressure difference.

More stages are required because the design differential pressure for each stage is 75 psi (lower if the abrasive content is high). Too long screw pump will lead to processing problems. However, even if the processing problem is not considered, a very long rotor will become soft and prone to sagging in the middle, resulting in excessive interference with the rubber bushing, resulting in overheating and failure (falling off). Sometimes several pumps may be used. One pump pumps the fluid to an open storage container in the middle, and the next pump starts pumping from here. This will ensure that the inlet pressure of all pumps is the same and will not increase. The solution of screw pump is to increase the motor speed and reduce the motor power.
