Reasonable Pipeline Scheme

1. The turning of the pipeline should be smooth transition.

2. Valves should be installed in the intake pipeline of water-ring vacuum pump to regulate the amount of water intake. The amount of water intake has an effect on the vacuum degree. When regulating the amount of water intake, the valve is controlled by observing the pointer of the vacuum meter.

3. The shorter the distance between the outlet of the vacuum system and the inlet of the pump, the better.

4. The fewer pipeline turns, the better.

5. The inlet pipeline should be higher than the central line of the pump inlet, and the outlet pipeline should avoid the factors that cause greater resistance, such as climbing up the outlet pipeline, right-angle turning, etc.

6. The diameter of the fitting pipe should be the same as that of the product. If the vacuum system is small, the diameter of the fitting pipe can be small, but not less than 70% of the diameter of the product, and the diameter of the outlet pipe should be greater than or equal to the diameter of the inlet pipe.

The working pressure of the selected vacuum pump should meet the vacuum limit and the working pressure requirements of the vacuum equipment; each pump has a certain working pressure range, and the working point of the pump should be selected to work within this range; check and determine the type and volume of the pumping required by the process. The characteristics of gas should be analyzed, such as corrosiveness, cohesion and so on. Because if the type of pumped gas reacts with the liquid in the pump, the pump system will be polluted. At the same time, it must be considered to determine the appropriate exhaust time and the gas footprint generated during the exhaust process.

Under its working pressure, the vacuum pump should be able to remove all the gas produced in the process of vacuum equipment, and determine the vacuum volume of the system. Check to determine the time required to achieve the required vacuum, the flow resistance and leakage of the vacuum pipeline. Considering that the required vacuum degree can be achieved and the required pumping rate can be maintained under certain technological conditions, the proper stage ratio between the main pump and the front pump can be determined by combining the vacuum pumps correctly, and the shorter and thicker pipelines should be used as far as possible in the design of the vacuum pipeline, and the general diameter of the pipeline is not less than the inlet of the vacuum pump.


In the design of vacuum system, the sealing property of the system should be improved and the leakage rate of the system should be reduced. The suitable sealing material should be selected. The actual volume flow of the gas pumped by the liquid ring vacuum pump is related to the working liquid. The higher the working liquid is, the higher the vapor partial pressure is, and the working liquid is vacuum-to-vacuum.

The poorer the condensation effect of the inlet steam of the pump is, the smaller the volume flow of the pumped gas of the vacuum pump is. It is suggested that the working fluid with lower saturated vapor pressure should be selected and the temperature of the working fluid should be controlled at the same time. For the gases with high solidification point, such as glycerol, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and hexamethyltrisiloxane, the temperature of the Roots pump should be increased in order to avoid such gases from condensation and deposition in the Roots pump, such as through heating. Nitrogen is used to increase pump temperature, and new technology is used in vacuum system design to achieve automatic control and interlocking protection.

Excessive water temperature will inevitably cause water vaporization and evaporation, and the working conditions of negative pressure will further aggravate the occurrence of such vaporization and evaporation, resulting in excessive water vapor in the vacuum pump body. In this way, the vacuum pump sucks in excessive water vapor while sucking in, but seldom sucks out, resulting in a very low vacuum degree of the system. There are two main factors that cause the water temperature to be too high. One is that the water supply temperature is too high; the other is that the water temperature rises in the working process.

To prevent excessive water temperature, we must do the following:

1. Reduce the temperature of water supply;

2. Keeping the water intake and outlet passages open, especially the outlet passages (two drainage holes at the bottom of the pump body) must be kept open at any time, and can not blindly block or reduce its circulation area;

3. Adjust the process to reduce the material temperature of the main engine as much as possible, so as to reduce the suction temperature of the vacuum pump.

The normal sound of water-ring vacuum pump is caused by water-ring eddy current. After the pump exceeds the critical compression ratio, the gas pressure discharged from the pump can not resist the air pressure at the exhaust hole, resulting in the increase of the gas back pressure in the pump, which is transmitted to the water ring and causes the flow rate to slow down. At first, the eddy current is formed in the outer part of the water ring which is close to the pump body between the suction hole and the exhaust hole. Then, with the further increase of the back pressure of the exhaust hole, the range of the eddy current is enlarged, and the volume of the suction space and the effective cross section of the suction hole are gradually reduced, resulting in the decrease of the gas child.

When the critical compression ratio is exceeded, the water ring eddy current forms, which makes the pressure and volume of gas in the pump produce periodic pulsation and causes the sound of the pump. The sound intensifies with the increase of compression ratio (but the shaft power does not increase much). When the maximum compression ratio is reached, the air volume is zero, and the whole water ring from the suction hole to the exhaust hole forms eddy current, which maximizes the air volume fluctuation and noise. This noise is related to the circumferential speed of the pump, the suction pressure, the wall thickness of the pump body, the structure of the gas-water separator and the water supply basin. For running pumps, if the water supply is properly adjusted, the sound may be reduced.

During the operation of water-ring vacuum pump, if the sound is not caused by the above normal hydrodynamic phenomena, but one of the following three cases, it shows that there is a fault in the pump.

The main principle of jet pump is that the liquid, gas or solid around is driven and accelerated by the liquid or gas ejected from the power nozzle at high speed. Unlike traditional pumps, jet pumps have no moving parts in operation.

When checking, the pump should be isolated before checking. Firstly, isolate the suspicious parts of the system from the valve to the vacuum pump: valve, flange, pipeline weld turning and do meticulous leak detection. Usually, the vacuum gauge method is used, that is, brush, alcohol, acetone and other organic solvents are applied one by one on the suspicious parts and the inlet seams of the pump, at the same time, the change of the vacuum gauge or glow color is observed.

When it is found that the vacuum gauge shakes or purple glow turns Milky white, it is possible to determine the leakage of the painted part. When the leakage gap is small, this method is difficult to detect. A more sensitive method should be adopted to detect the leakage. If there is a leak, it can be repaired. If there is something wrong with the vacuum pump itself, the pump should be removed from the system for maintenance. First try the inspection method without dismantling the pump, such as refueling, oil change, oil transfer line and so on. If it works, it will be better.

The wear and scratch of the end cover plate can be removed by means of scraping and grinding with trucks and shovels. Dimensions are not subject to such strict restrictions. After turning, it can be coated with red Dan ointment (adjusted oil) on grade 0 flat plate. After grinding with the end cover plate for several times, the end cover can be removed for inspection. Usually, if there are 4-5 points (bright spots) in the average area of 25 square millimeters on the end cover surface, the end cover and the end face of the pump chamber should be grinded carefully by hand, that is, 1000 grinding sand will be used to grind the end cover and the end face of the pump chamber to each other. You can't see scratches. When grinding with a surface grinder, the grinding accuracy should be above two levels, preferably one.
